The daily pressures of the TO-DO list

I hope you enjoyed reading the series on the to-do list. If you have followed it religiously you would realize that your to-do list has really been getting full there are so many things on that to-do list and you are really getting impressed by the fact that you are getting a lot of things on your list. By this time however you would have realized that at the end of every day you would have a list of unaccomplished tasks. This might at first seem worrying to some of you and then you soon figure out that those activities can be postponed to another date so you go ahead and do that. At the end of the next day you observe a similar thing, your list is full of unaccomplished tasks and this goes on for some time. You soon realize that something has to be done about it because after a couple of weeks there are so many things on the list that have not been touched and you cannot see how you are going to ever get to touch them. This soon brings you to feel that this to-do list thing might not be full proof so you abandon it in search of something that could help you do everything that you put on that list before the close of the day.

Usually there is a lot of pressure on the user of the to-do list to accomplish everything on his list but an experienced person would realize that this shouldn’t be the case. There is a very simple way of dealing with this type of pressure and it is quite easy. Just simply clear you to-do list of all uncompleted tasks.

You might be thinking at this point that what would be the use of putting things on the list in the first place if you would just end up taking them of. Well the simple answer to that is this, if a task has been on your list for two weeks or more and you haven’t been able to put a specific date when it would be tackled, then it might as well leave the list for tasks that would be more relevant. If it is relevant then you should have put a clear date by which time you should have completed that task but if you haven’t done so then you might as well reconsider taking it of your very important list.

So that is it take of what is not necessary from your list and that would remove the clutter on your to-do list. Clearing it up will take of the pressure and help you concentrate on the more important things on your list.

I hope this was helpful. Please feel free to give some feedback, you could leave a comment or mail me to share your thoughts. Thank you.
