Windows 8 , The Wait is Over!!!

Yes we are here. Tonight is the night Microsoft finally launches its New Operating System Windows 8 together with its Surface Tablet.

Since the first introduction of Windows 8 and the Surface device I must say that I was impressed. Over the past 5 years I have grown to expect not too good products form Microsoft’s, but with the introduction of the Surface it was obvious that Microsoft were getting ready to fight back and fight back really hard. If you know Microsoft like I do, when they get serious, they really get serious. You should be happy about that, this is really good news for consumers. We now have really beautiful products from Apple, a wonderful and powerful mobile OS from Google called Android, and now Microsoft is putting its act together to ensure they can deliver better products to meet current expectations. This week has been really great.  I really hope this launch is successful in the long run for Microsoft and the tech industry as a whole.
How do you feel about today’s Windows 8 launch?

Windows 8 Coming Soon, Get Ready

Intel CEO slams Paul Otellini windows 8, says it is not ready but releasing it before it is fully baked is the right move since Microsoft can make improvements after it ships Well to be honest nothing really is ready before it is launched. Every tech companies products are launched even if it could still be improved. Microsoft is no different and you can bare witness if you are an iPhone user that Apples new maps app is just not ready for release. A lot of Apple users are unhappy but I tell you all this would be forgotten when the next iteration of the maps app is introduced.

Windows 8's Metro UI

Personally I think there is a lot Microsoft could do to improve their upcoming operating system(Windows 8), I feel the same as Intel's CEO. There are some bugs and interface issues that have to be solved before it is released, but I can definitely say one thing, Microsoft is definitely heading in the right direction and making all the good decisions at this stage. Windows 8 has every right to compete with whatever tablet or desktop operating system is out there especially apples OS's. I really cant wait to see what the PC market would look like when Microsoft is releases Windows 8 and their line of Surface Tablets.

I am confident that although reception might not be that fast compared to apple Adoption will rapidly increase after the first few weeks when people realize that Microsoft has a viable alternative to its competitors.

The Nokia Lumia 900 [windows phone]

The Nokia Lumia 900 will be launched soon and really soon. I was thinking to myself that I might just take sometime to announce it on my blog just in-case some people have not heard about it.

I am not going to lie to you but I have not used it personally but I cant wait to get my hands on it.
So far the reviews on this phone have been very positive and most people in the industry think this would be the one to finally give windows phone the push that it needs to enter the Smart Phone OS market.

Features
  • Operating System: Windows Phone 7.5 Mango
  • Memory: 14.5 GB
  • Camera resolution: 8 megapixels
  • Display Resolution: 800 x 480 pixels
  • Display Resistance: Scratch Resistant Gorilla Glass
  • Video: 720p video
  • Integration with Xbox

Windows Phone 7.5 Mango to me is a really interesting OS that is definitely different in every way from the competition. Microsoft did a good job with it and I think they have a winning formula with this Mango release. The Lumia 900 comes with everything that you would need in a smart phone and the price of $99.99 is worth having a look at.

With windows phone's share of the market being insignificant and RIM's (Research In Motion: the makers of Black Berry) share falling to rivals like Android and iOS, this should definitely be the phone that changes the game for Windows Phone. In my opinion, a lot of the success of Windows Phone and Microsoft up coming Windows 8 depends on this phone. If Lumia 900 is successful then I think windows would now have the right kind of hardware manufacturer that would be able to showcase the beauty of the new Windows ecosystem that Microsoft is building.

If you are still one of those who think that Microsoft's windows phone SUCKS, then I think you should try this this phone. At $99.99 there is no reason why you shouldn't try this.

Apple is Number 1 in the world

If you have been following technology and the stock market in general you would know that today Apple Inc became the #1 capped company in the world with Exxon Mobile following second. It followed their more than impressive results for the year 2011. I always knew apple was a big company but I had no idea that it was that huge a company. It kind of makes me want to laugh. Thinking about how some people see Apple as the underdog to companies like Microsoft. At least in the mind of most buyers of apple product they have no idea that Apple no longer holds that position of the underdog which always out performs its competitors.

So Apple is now worth 417 billion US dollers, thats its current market capitalization it is huge but it is even bigger when you consider that it is almost twice the size of Microsoft. Also it has about 98 billion dollars in cold cash at its disposal. Quite amazing so what is Apple going to do with all that money. It makes me wonder is it all going into R&D or probably would be put into expanding Apple from an American brand and into a more Global brand. Would they release a low cost iPad making it ready for the launch of Microsoft's windows 8 hoping to literally take a greater market share form their rivals? Well no one knows for the moment but this is a company that would be interesting to watch for the next year.

I plan on getting some copies of their annual reports to study myself I wonder if they would grow bigger or are they all of a sudden going to hit a little road block and not know what to do with their new found status? Are they going to start behaving like most big named companies and become less innovative, are they going to become more entrenched and if so would a new rival to Apple arrive on the market?

Well we wait to see what happens with this great tech company. An i would with this,  Congratulations Apple.
